From crisis to flourishing: Your journey to empowerment begins here

At Te Ara ki Matangireia, we understand that overcoming family violence and intimate partner violence is a journey, not a destination. We provide specialist education, advocacy, and navigation support for wāhine in Auckland, Aotearoa, helping you move beyond crisis to rebuild your life with confidence and purpose.

Our specialist support streams

Te Ara ki Matangireia offers two distinct yet complementary streams of support, each designed to empower wāhine at different stages of their journey.

From crisis to chrysalis

This stream provides specialist family violence education, advocacy, and navigation support. We help wāhine understand coercive control, psychological abuse, litigation abuse, and post-separation abuse, while assisting with court preparation, chronologies, affidavits, documentation, agency engagement, appointments, and system navigation through a family violence lens. We are here to support you through a continuum care approach when the crisis has ended, but the journey has not.

More for Mama

Our second stream, More for Mama, focuses on rebuilding confidence, developing leadership skills, fostering career growth, identifying purpose, and ultimately flourishing. Through wānanga (workshops) and connection with other wāhine, we create a supportive environment for personal development and empowerment.

We also facilitate monthly conversations with influential wāhine who transformed their own adversity and lived experience with family violence into leadership, purpose, prosperity and impact.

Advocacy and system navigation

Navigating the complex legal and social systems after family violence can be overwhelming. We provide expert advocacy and support to ensure your voice is heard and your rights are protected throughout the process, from Family Court to engaging with various agencies.

Education and empowerment workshops

Our workshops are designed to equip wāhine with the knowledge and tools to understand and overcome the impacts of family violence. Topics include understanding coercive control, psychological abuse, and developing strategies for personal growth and leadership.

“Te Ara ki Matangireia provided invaluable support during the most challenging time of my life. Their guidance and advocacy helped me find my voice and navigate the Family Court with confidence. I am so grateful for their dedication.”
